Interview with an artist – Vill Gormoon

So, our topic for this week is to interview a fellow community member and go in depth with them based on their experiences from volunteering. Vill Gormoon a volunteer at S.K.E.T.C.H which is an all ages drop in art studio for people looking for creative opportunities. In addition, there are meals available and members of the community to interact with while your there. Vill was attending  A of U (Anarchist University) before S.K.E.T.C.H who referred him to their art studio. He’ very passionate for the arts so this opportunity immediately peaked his interest. Now, four years later, Vill’s a reliable and dedicated member of S.K.E.T.C.H. He’s also proud to call himself a professional artist after being deeply involved with the arts for quite a bit of time. When I asked Vill what his favourite food was he immediately said sushi. Especially the one’s with Yam or Shrimp. When I asked Vill how he feels about being apart of S.K.E.T.C.H he doesn’t hesitate to say that he’s dealt with a lot of different people in a positive sense and that he loves learning new things. One being stencilling which he recommends as a fun thing to do. Last but never the least TIPS FROM WILL!

1) It’s good to keep your garden weed free 🙂

2) Make sure there aren’t any unwanted things being put into your garden

3)Use natural fertilizers

So, next time you’re in Parkdale and you happen to have the chance to go visit the Parkdale Negibourhood Church on a Thursday, maybe you can drop by and check out S.K.E.T.C.H’s art studio! Until then, I’ll see you next week! 🙂
